What is Heat Transfer?

Heat Transfer is a process of applying heat and pressure over a specified amount of time to transfer or bond one item to another. 

What kind if products use Heat Transfer?

Heat Transfer in the garment decoration industry typically involves one of the following:

• A Screen Printed or digitally printed image on transfer paper
• A Vinyl, Foil or Flock material
• Rhinestones

What kind of quality can you get with Heat Transfer?

Quality has everything to do with the materials used and the way they are applied.  A professionally applied Heat Transfer is in a different class than an iron on transfer done at home.  We use only high quality materials and prefessional heat presses to apply heat transfer products at The Branding Iron.  Technology advancements in the last few years have also played a tremendous role in improving the quality and longevity of Heat Transfer products.

What is a Screen Print Transfer?

While we typically associate Screen Printing with t-shirts, Screen Printing can be done on many surfaces including specialized transfer paper which is very common.  When images are screen printed to transfer paper, they are only partially cured to prepare them for the Heat Transfer process.  With Heat Transfer, these images can then be applied to a number of products including the good old t-shirt.  This can actually be a more cost effective way of printing t-shirts.  You still get the same high quality screen printed image, and it comes with one more advantage...the softer touch.  Since we are pressing it into the shirt, it has a flatter softer touch to it than directly screen printing it onto the shirt.
